I am so happy to be teaching 3rd grade at the Great Salt Bay Community School. I have been here for ten years and I just love this community of educators and learners. Before teaching at GSB, I taught in Rockland, Maine and Acton, Massachusetts. I have been teaching for a total of 15 years. I received my BA from Hampshire College and my Master's degree in Creative Arts and Education from Lesley College. I spent many years teaching summer courses at the Boston Museum of Science and I am currently employed by the RISE Center at the University of Maine in Orono as a Science Resource Partner and Teacher Leader. I am very passionate about integrating science and art into the elementary classroom on a daily basis, and am committed to providing a STEAM education for my students, focused on inquiry, creativity and design using science, technology, art and mathematics. I am currently interested in learning more about Project-Based Learning and I hope to implement this type of instruction into my curriculum.
I have recently moved to Newcastle and am thrilled to be living in this wonderful community. I have three daughters, two dogs and seven chickens. When I'm not busy with new ideas for my classroom, I am working in the garden, seeing live music, eating delicious food, learning new things and spending time with my loved ones. |
